Today, I got to see the Nutcracker for the first time. I was so excited and have been looking forward to it all week. Our town has this cute little theatre and each year they put on the Nutcracker.
I wasn't really sure what to expect, as I can honestly say I have never been to a ballet. I was very impressed with the performance and enjoyed it greatly. I was disappointed that time passed so quickly and it was over before I knew it. I left wanting to learn ballet (although I'm guessing I'm a little too old for a beginner class). I look forward to seeing the Nutcracker again next year. I think this time, I will try out a different performance, perhaps in Dallas area so that I have something to compare it to.
The rest of the weekend will be spent preparing for the week ahead (laundry, cleaning, shopping) and putting up the Christmas tree! I can't wait!

As a kid, one of your family traditions was to see the Nutcracker every year. I loved it and missed it when we stopped going. DH & I have talked about going and haven't made it happen yet...we need to get in that! Glad you enjoyed it!
Oh, I LOVE the Nutcracker Ballet! I SO wanted to take my two-year old to a production of it this year, but the only one in the area that I could find was the Boston Ballet's performance, and she is too young for that for SURE. I was hoping for a small rep. theater or a ballet school to do one in the area . . .
You're never to old for a beginner's class! A lot of studios are offering adult classes nowadays. Check into it in your city - you could be pleasantly surprised! One of the best dancers I know never stepped foot in a dance studio till she was 18. Another started when he was 19. It's great exercise :) I danced for years - when the kids are a bit older I'm hoping to start dancing again.
Glad you enjoyed it! Have fun preparing for the Christmas season!!!!
I'm right there with you, I've never seen the Nutcracker! One day, I can't wait!
