Living in the Middle of Nowhere

I realize, I totally stink at this blogging. Maybe now that Anthony is working, I will have more free time. He thinks my blogging is silly. Anyway...things are different here! Very different. And I kind of enjoy it. It's nice to have change. Here's what I've noticed so far:

1. There's no traffic. I can drive anywhere within 15 minutes and the only time I just sit in my car is if there is a red light or stop sign. Even at 5:00. It's so great!
2. Everything is close by! I used to drive 15-20 minutes to get to Target or the mall. Walmart is 5 minutes away. Target...8 minutes. The mall...8 minutes. I'm a happy camper.
3. There is lots of interesting wildlife here. The first time Anthony came home from playing golf he said, "There were turkeys on the golf course, and these little wierd animals that looked like squirrels without the bushy tails." Well, I didn't really believe that their were turkeys, but then I went to pick him up a week later, and there were a bunch of turkeys all running around. And we later the learned the little animals were prairie dogs. Then, last week he said their was a doe on the golf course. And Wednesday we saw a jack rabbit right outside of the gym. It's very fun. You never know what you'll see.
4. People are very friendly. Everyone will talk to you. This part I especially enjoy since I haven't made any friends here. I love going to sub at schools. Everyone says hi to you and actually seems to care about what you have to say.

Still no word on a job. I'm really hoping to find a job teaching. That is my love. So, please pray. It's still early. For the rest of the year, I'm subbing. It's different and eye opening. I have learned that I couldn't teach kids about 4th grade. Which is good that I don't enjoy that since my certification is EC-4th. It's like once they hit 5th grade, they completely change. I've also realized the need for very detailed sub plans. Of course, I already did this being that I'm extremely OCD and I needed things to be smooth, even if I wasn't there.

I'm loving being married though and living with my husband. Their are changes their too though. I'm still learning what bothers him, like me leaving food in the dishes in the sink. And, he's learning to make sure and put more toilet paper on the toilet paper roll when it is gone. In adition to our married life changes, I am also adapting to him working at night on some nights. Hopefully it will get easier, although it never seemed to get easier when he was at training.

I'm sure this is only the beginning of the changes. More to come as I search for a job, we get settle and add an addition to our family. And no, it won't be a human addition. Not anytime soon.

I'm pretty sure Zach thought it silly at first, and would make random comments. Until the other day when he said "Update your blog, how else am I supposed to keep up with you?" Followed by me asking him if he wanted details on the house and he said "No, I'll just read about it later." It's pretty funny.

I'm crossing my fingers that you land a fabulous teaching job! There is no way I could teach middle schoolers...yikes. The hormones! The attitude. No thanks :)
